Think Before you Click!
NEVER click on a link or attachment in an e-mail if you do not recognize the recipient, are not expecting anything from them, or don't normally communicate with them in the manner presented
NEVER click on a link or attachment on a website if you do not recognize the location of the site.
Moore Engineering provides an internet connection with many security and safety features deployed to prevent abuse or attacks from the outside. However, e-mails do regularly make it through some defenses that could introduce a virus into our network or open us up to cyber-attack. If you receive an e-mail from an unknown sender and it includes an attachment or hyperlink, report it as Phishing using the Phish Alert button in Outlook. It will be analyzed and determined if it is a Threat, Spam, or Clean by our security awareness training vendor. If they are unable to determine the nature of the message, IT will manually investigate and make a determination.
E-mail addresses are easily “spoofed” so be aware. Hovering over the sending e-mail address will show you the true address of the sender.
Always think before you open an attachment or click a link!
