Customize User Interface in Civil 3D
Customize User Interface Dialog Box
The dialog box can be accessed by the following methods:
- Command Line: CUI
- Ribbon: Manage Tab -> Customization Panel -> User Interface
- Menu: Tools -> Customize -> Interface

Transfer a Customized Workspace
If you have a customized workspace,

- Select Transfer panel
- Your current Customization File appears in the Left Half. On the Right Side pull down, select “Open customization file” Browse to the previous Customization File location, and select C3D.cuix.
C:\Users\<<%username%>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D <<version>>\enu\support
- Make sure that c3d.cuix is showing in the Right Hand Panel Pull Down.
- Drag “Custom Workspace default” from the Right Hand Panel to the Left Hand Panel under “Workspaces”.
- Hit “Apply”, and then Hit OK to close the dialog box.
- Re-open CUI
- Expand “Partial Customization Files”
- Find any “Unresolved” Customization Files. You can either resolve the path or remove them.

Right click on the “Unresolved” Partial Customization File.
- Select “Unload” to remove
OR
- Select “Browse” to correct the file path
Loading a Partial Customization File
Open CUI.
Right Click on “Partial Customization Files” and select “Load a partial customization file”
Browse to the location of the partial customization file you wish to load”
Typical Location for Partial Customization Files (Examples below use Civil 3D 2021)
Raster Design
c:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\autodesk\c3d 2021\enu\support\aecco.cuix
Map Classic
c:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\autodesk\c3d 2021\enu\support\mapclassic.cuix
Autodesk Vehicle Tracking 2021
c:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\autodesk\vehicle tracking\menus\atrc240.cuix
Trimble Link (If installed)
