Forticlient VPN
Accessing Vistal’s network from outside the office
If you have a company owned laptop you will have VPN software installed on it so you can access the internal Vistal network from a remote location. Only company issued laptops are authorized to access the internal Vistal network. Use the icon on your desktop, Forticlient VPN, to access VPN.
The VPN software is required to connect to the Vistal network if you are outside any of the Vistal offices. You must first connect to a solid, stable internet connection for the VPN client to work effectively.
To connect to VPN:

- Ensure the 'Vistal Remote Access' VPN Name option is selected, and click 'Connect'

- The Forticlient VPN is SSO enabled, enter your company email and password and complete the MFA prompt:

- The app will show 'VPN Connected' when connected successfully:
Additional information regarding the use of VPN:
- When accessing information on the Vistal internal network through the VPN, the time it takes for files to be retrieved is completely dependent on your internet connection speed.
- The VPN requires a consistent, stable connection and will disconnect if there is interference or you have a weak internet connection/signal.
- Before calling issues into IT, make sure you have a consistent strong internet signal/connection.
- The VPN allows you access to everything in the Vistal network just as if you were sitting in the office.
- The only difference will be the access speed to network resources.
- You do NOT need to be on VPN to access e-mail, Teams, or your OneDrive when outside the office.
- Although it does work on strong cellular connections, the VPN may not work consistently if you are using a smartphone hotspot signal due to fluctuations in the strength of the connection.
